About this game
A board game divided into three zones: past, present and future. Where a child lands decides what they are asked about, whether that is something that already happened, something happening now, or something they hope for.
That structure does something useful. Children who cannot answer "how are you feeling?" can often answer "what is something you did last year that you are proud of?" The board gives the question a reason to exist, and the answer arrives without a fuss.
CBTime draws on cognitive behavioural techniques, the practical ideas therapists use to help children link what they think to what they do. It plays like Snakes and Ladders, so most children already know the rules before you explain them.
How it plays
Two to six players, 30 to 50 minutes. Roll, move, land in a zone, answer the card. Climb where you can, slide where you cannot, and keep going.
Good for
- Children who deflect direct questions but answer specific ones
- Building a habit of noticing progress rather than only mistakes
- Therapists and school staff who need a session structure that does not feel like one
In the box
- 80 question cards
- 1 game board
- 1 die
